With Kaduna towns, troops engage bandits in gunfire and release 10 victims

The Kaduna State government has stated that 10 kidnapped victims have been released after security personnel used airstrikes to target bandit positions in Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Igabi, and Chikun LGAs.

In a statement released on Friday, Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner of the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, confirmed this and stated that ten people had escaped from various locations throughout the state.

Muhammadu Maitireda, Musa Adamu, Dahiru Garba, Badamasi Halilu, Malam Alawiya, Maimuna, Adama, Garba, Ahmad, and Luka were the individuals he mentioned.

He claimed that according to the troop reports, Operation Whirl Punch’s air component dislodged bandits while also recovering weapons and motorcycles in Birnin Gwari LGA.

Similar to this, Operation Forest Sanity troops conducted combat patrols along the Gyam-Kuriga-Manini-Udawa-Buruku road in Birnin Gwari LGA. They engaged in gunfire with the bandits as they fled into the bush, recovering an AK-47 rifle, seven motorcycles, nine rounds of ammunition, and a Baofeng radio charger.
