Zamfara INEC ensures that IDPs have proper arrangements

The Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) will be properly accommodated for the 2023 general elections, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission () of Zamfara State.

In a telephone conversation with gospelcable, the State Resident Commissioner, Professor Saidu Barbura Ahmed, said that everyone who has a permanent voter's card (PVC) will be able to enjoy their civil rights where they live.

He said that as part of the State's preparation for credible and acceptable general elections, the commission has already begun receiving some non-sensitive election-related materials from the commission's headquarters.

“I am underlining the commission's commitment to working with all interested parties to make sure that all political parties in the State are given an equal opportunity as we work to deliver smooth, credible, and acceptable elections.

“We are all working hard to create an atmosphere that allows the parties to conduct their political activities, and we are appealing to stakeholders to offer us the greatest amount of support and collaboration,” he said.

Informing individuals who have not yet picked up their PVC that all INEC offices in the State are open, Ahmed urged them to do so as soon as possible.
