Voter apathy: Imo PDP calls for compensation after a Supreme Court ruling

There is no question that Imo people are dissatisfied with the electoral process, according to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chapter for Imo State, which repeatedly emphasized the need for restitution and confidence-building.

The opposition party claimed that the Imo people needed political actors to explain to them why the Supreme Court brutally truncated the governorship mandate that the Imo people overwhelmingly gave to their preferred candidate in 2019.

The party stated that the concern is that either their votes will not be counted or that their votes will not count in a statement made available to gospelcable by Collins Opurozor, its publicity secretary in Imo State.

Prior to the 2023 general election, PDP repeatedly emphasized the need to address the problem of voter apathy and claimed that the state ranks at the bottom of the scale for voter registration and PVC collection.

According to the press release, “It is a psychological issue. Apathy manifests itself in the current low voter registration and PVC collection rates when people believe their votes no longer matter or that the mandates that public officeholders parade are in fact questionable and unearned.

Restitution and confidence-building are required. The apathy you mention has this as its main cause.

Prof. Lai Olurode, a former INEC Federal Commissioner, has expressed these opinions. Unfortunately, Senator Hope Uzodinma quickly issued a wanted notice for him and instructed security services to seize him wherever they find him.
