“Operation UDO KA II” troops combating rebels in the Southeast cleared terrorist hideouts in Orsumoghu Forest in Ihiala LGA, Anambra.

On Saturday, Lt.-Col. Jonah Unuakhalu, 82 Division Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, told journalists in Enugu that the troops killed two terrorists.
His operation targeted alleged hideouts of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its militant component, the Eastern Security Network.

Unuakhalu said the alleged IPOB terrorists used IEDs to halt the army, but they were unafraid.
Two of the group were neutralized by the soldiers, while others fled with bullet wounds.
The camps yielded military boots, a belt, five phones, one binoculars, leather gloves, and a police head warmer.

He said one locally-made portable IED and four locally-made IED launchers (Ogbunigwe) were others.
