The topic of the ISC3 Innovation Challenge 2023 is “Sustainable Chemistry and Agriculture”! The annual ISC3 Innovation Challenge is thematically focused on a once-a-year chosen focus issue. Start-ups from around the world are encouraged to compete for a total of 25,000 EUR in prize money with their unique ideas centered on the current year’s focal theme.
A jury of international specialists evaluates the Start-ups and selects the finalists. The finalist pitches and award ceremony are held in the autumn/winter.
ISC3 Innovation Challenge in Sustainable Chemistry and Waste Eligibility Requirements
All innovators and entrepreneurs who own or represent the proposed innovation and work for organizations such as research institutes, start-ups, small-medium-sized enterprises, or comparable institutions that are active in the development and implementation of sustainable chemistry solutions are eligible.
Enterprises taking part in the challenge must have an employee headcount of no more than 50 (full-time equivalent) and an annual turnover of no more than 10 million Euro.
Except for breakthroughs that result in the formation of independent spin-offs, firms that are majority-owned by large enterprises are ineligible for the award.
Proposals presented by inventors and entrepreneurs from developing nations that address issues in developing countries are deemed very noteworthy.
Female entrepreneurs are encouraged to submit proposals in particular.
The submissions will be evaluated using three primary criteria:
Level of innovation. Is the innovation distinct, unique, and truly original?
The viability of a business. What is the innovation’s market potential?
Sustainability. What is the innovation’s long-term impact?
The winners get cash prizes in three categories:
Best Social Impact for Start-ups with a significant impact on their community.
Best Regional Impact for Start-ups that have developed an innovative solution to a problem that is particularly relevant to their region.
Our overall Innovation Challenge Winner.
All finalists receive tailored ISC3 Global Start-up Service support in the form of pitch trainings and have the opportunity to be highlighted as Start-up of the Month.
The following will be awarded to the five finalists:
Customized assistance: access to Global Start-up Service Support on Demand
Visibility: publicizing your invention using ISC3 communication channels.
Cash prizes: The overall Innovation Challenge Winner will get 15,000 EUR in cash.
