Aminu Tambuwal, the governor of Sokoto State, is on the list for director-general of the party’s national campaign management committee, which has caused controversy inside the party.
While some party leaders endorsed the committee’s makeup, others criticized the party for picking a northerner to serve as DG.

Due to Northerners assuming possession of delicate positions in the party, there has been disagreement in the last few months.
Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s national chairman, has come under fire from the camp of Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and former PDP (South West) national vice chairman Bode George.
In order to offer the South a sense of unity with the party, they also demanded that Ayu’s successor someone from the region.

Ayu’s dismissal is still being demanded by the party, but another northerner has been appointed the director general of the campaign committee, which has caused controversy.
In an interview with Daily Sun, the Chairman of the PDP in Lagos State, Philip Aivoji, discussed the team and how the South is represented by Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel.
According to Amos Adziba, the PDP’s press secretary in Borno State, the campaign list represents the interests of all groups in the nation.
In response to the campaign council list that the PDP announced on Thursday, Princewill Dike, a PDP leader in Rivers State, stated that the choice of Tambuwal as the DG was made with a clear purpose against the South.
Dike added that it is evidence supporting Governor Wike’s campaign against the northerners-led party.
He continued by saying that Tambuwal’s appointment has made party members in the South more hurt than before.
