An ex-governor of Niger laments security issues and ongoing ASSU strikes

Former governor of Niger State and head of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Presidential Committee Council Muazu Babangida Aliyu lamented the level of insecurity in the nation and the Academic Staff Union of Universities’ (ASUU) strike actions, claiming that the PDP would effectively address the issues if it were elected in 2023.

At the state PDP secretariat in Minna shortly after his inauguration, Aliyu made the following statement during his response.

Under the PDP administration, he declared, “schools can never go on strike, and even the problem of insecurity that is ravaging our nation would be tackled head-on.”

The former governor gave his word that he would cooperate with other party members to ensure the party’s success.

“We are one, and the majority of us are aware that Atiku’s victory in the presidential race will have an impact on the state governorship elections.

Go up there, and please act as if you’re never going to die. To show Nigerlites that PDP is the party that can deliver the people, let’s never forget that it is our efforts that will lead to our success, Aliyu added.
