Eriksson identifies three assailants. Southgate ought to start versus France

Sven-Goran Eriksson, a former England manager, has advised Gareth Southgate to start players like Marcus Rashford, Harry Kane, and Phil Foden in his attack line for the Three Lions’ match against France in the World Cup quarterfinal.

When England takes on France on Saturday in the World Cup quarterfinals, Eriksson wants Southgate to start the trio in place of Bukayo Saka.

England enters the match having defeated Senegal 3-0 in the round of 16, while France defeated Poland 3-1.

Eriksson told BoyleSports, “Bukayo Saka is very quick, but I think Marcus Rashford should start ahead of him despite his goal against Senegal.”

“I believe France will possess the ball more, so we must use all of our speed to counteract them.

“We have a much better chance of breaking and being more lethal on the counter if we have Rashford on the counter, so I would have to start Rashford, [Phil] Foden, and [Harry] Kane against France.

Rashford is a runner who must play both with and without the ball.
