Despite Senegal’s World Cup exit, CAF celebrates

Despite their elimination from the FIFA , the Terangha Lions of Senegal have received praise from the Confederation of African Football ().

The Three Lions of England defeated Aliou Cisse's team 3-0 in their Round of 16 match on Sunday night.

The English scored goals through Jordan Henderson, Harry Kane, and Bukayo Saka as the African champions struggled after a strong start.

The Terangha Lions were praised by CAF for representing the continent with pride in the competition.

“We are all proud of the African champions. Senegal's journey in the #FIFAWorldCup is over, but we will undoubtedly see them again in 2026, the CAF stated on its official website.

The Atlas Lions of Morocco, the only team from Africa to make it this far, will play Spain on Tuesday in the Round of 16.
