“Fake Soldier” Is Arrested by Lagos State Police for Alleged Fruad

A 65-year-old man named Jeremiah Joseph has been detained by the Police Command for allegedly impersonating an army officer and cheating a guy out of N120,000 in Ipaja.

SP On Wednesday, Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), announced the arrest on Twitter.

The defendant tricked a man while wearing a uniform and bogus Army identification card, then fled.

Ignatius was approached by the suspect, who identified himself as an Army Lieutenant.

“The bogus Lieutenant promised to set up soldiers to aid Ignatius in recouping N4.5 million that some residents of Delta State owed him.

He collected N120,000 for his services before fleeing.
