Omah Lay caused quite a commotion when, during his performance of “Bend You,” he asked a female fan—who was allegedly at the concert with her boyfriend—to join him onstage.

Concertgoers’ online sharing of silhouettes of the duo sparked outrage, with many criticizing the move.

Omah Lay has nonetheless sent the fan an open letter declaring his love for her, in spite of the overwhelming negative response.

An online video has gone viral showing Shopsydoo, a British-Nigerian media personality, pleading with Omah Lay to acknowledge the fan, whom he called Fafa.

As requested, the singer complied.

Shopsydoo: “Hey, shout out to Fafa; he’s a fan of yours.”

Is that her name? Omah Lay: “Fafa.” I adore you, Fafa.
