Spy plate numbers are not permitted in the zone, according to Okunlola Kola Kamaldeen, the Zone Six Assistant Inspector General of Police.
States of Akwa Ibom and Cross River are included in the zone.
He issued a warning that the prohibition against using spy plate numbers was still in effect.
The AIG emphasized that violators run the risk of having their license plates seized, their cars impounded, and their occupants arrested in a statement that was signed by the zonal PRO, DSP Nelson Okpabi.
He added urged the zone’s officers and men to exercise caution and discipline.
The AIG urged security stakeholders, members of civil liberties organizations, business leaders, academics, and notable individuals to work with the police and support the IGP’s citizen-driven community policing policy.
During his visit to the Akwa Ibom State Command, he spoke to the officers and men about how there should be no tolerance for the assault of police officers, how to treat people politely and with respect for their rights, and how to be impartial in political matters and while handling cases.
