Discontent in Delta as young people and market women oppose Varsity’s removal from their neighborhood

Hundreds of and youths have stopped the Ozoro/Kwale/Asaba Expressway, causing palpable tension in the Ozoro town, Isoko North Local Area of State.

Protests have broken out in the Orerokpe community, where the current governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, resides, over the transfer of the Faculty of Business Administration from Delta State University of Science and Technology, according to the DAILY POST.

According to them, the town's economy will take a major hit if the professors leaves the university.

Protesters, brandishing a variety of placards bearing messages, called for the reinstatement of the faculty.

The women were dancing around the village as the youngsters were observed at the Owhelogbo crossroads at the time this report was filed.

Anambra State destinations Asaba and Onitsha are now inaccessible, forcing travelers to find alternate routes.

Protesters demanded that Governor Oborevwori return the university's faculty to the main campus immediately.
