Real Madrid and Barcelona are the two best clubs in the world, according to former England manager Sven Goran Eriksson, who also claimed that every player wants to play for one of these teams.
He said this while supporting Virgil van Dijk of the Netherlands, who predicts that Cody Gakpo will reject Manchester United’s interest in him and sign with Real Madrid instead.
Van Dijk recently asserted that the player, who scored three goals at the World Cup in Qatar, has little chance of being signed by the Red Devils.
Eriksson asserts that Barcelona or Real Madrid interest could derail United’s plans.
“Van Dijk is correct when he criticizes Real and Manchester United. Right now, we have to admit that they are not on an equal footing.
“Playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona is the football pinnacle that every player strives to achieve.
“If you were to choose between those two clubs right now, Gakpo would win by a single vote.”
