The goal of “Exercise Still Water,” a field training exercise, was to root out kidnappers, armed robbers, and other criminals from the state.

Brig-Gen Muktar Adamu, the commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade in the state, announced the exercise’s launch in Owo, the headquarters of the Owo Local Government Area. He said the drill will help locate more criminal hiding places.

In addition, Adamu, who was accompanied by the garrison commander, Col. Jibril Garba, stated that cultists, drug dealers, armed bandits, kidnappers, and robbers would all be dealt with effectively.

He went on to say that the drill was intended to mimic tactical operations and to checkmate all types of criminal activity as the holiday season draws near.

He declared, “All criminal elements operating in the area of responsibility of the 32 Artillery Brigade should desist from their nefarious activities or face the full wrath of the law.”

In an effort to keep the state safe, Adamu made a plea to other security services, traditional leaders, and civic leaders to provide the military with reliable intelligence regarding security threats.

“It is necessary to set in motion different avenues to checkmate and stop the rise in criminal activities within the Brigade’s area of responsibility,” he stated, referring to the fact that we are in the “ember months,” which attract greater criminal activities.
