15 players have left the Flying Eagles after just one week of training in Abuja, according to head coach Ladan Bosso.
Bosso extended an invitation to 40 players so they could compete for spots in the team before the 2023 CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
Futballgalore claims that the affected players were instructed to leave camp due to issues with their international passports, subpar performance, and injury.
Last week, the Flying Eagles played three friendlies, winning each one without giving up a goal.
On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, respectively, Bosso’s team defeated Paul E-Sports Football Academy (5-0), Capital City (5-0), and Keffi Selected (7-0).
The players observed Sunday as a rest day and resumed training on Monday Morning.
Bosso is expected to invite new players to beef up the team as they intensify preparation ahead of the AFCON.
Egypt will host the competition from February 18 to March 12, 2023.
The top four teams in the competition will compete at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia.
