Posted by In light of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s worsening health, the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, have issued a grave warning to the Federal Government, stating that, should something unfortunate happen to him, their peaceful approach will no longer be the same.
IPOB claimed that it has learned concerning Nnamdi Kanu’s failing health while being held in solitary confinement by the Department of State Services through its legal team.
This was said in a statement released on Friday and signed by Comrade Emma Powerful, the IPOB media and publicity secretary.
The group emphasized that despite the most intolerable provocations, such as the exceptional extradition of its Leader from Kenya to Nigeria and the abductions, torture, covert disappearances, and extrajudicial killings, it has managed to maintain its composure.
But it also issued a red line warning that must not be crossed regarding Kanu’s health.
While pleading with the international community, including the British Prime Minister and her High Commissioner in Abuja, the President of the United States of America and the US Embassy in Abuja, among others, to force Nigeria to release Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally, it also issued a warning that the Nigerian Government should be held accountable in the event of any unfavorable scenario.
The following was part of the statement: “The IPOB leadership received a very troubling report from our legal team concerning the great leader and Prophet Mazi Nnamdi KANU’s declining health inside DSS solitary detention. In defiance of court orders, the Nigerian government has for more than a year now prevented Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from seeing his personal and professional physician through its lawless DSS. The Nigerian government and the DSS are thus informed that they are playing with an active volcano whose eruption, should they continue on this despicable course, will leave a trail of total destruction, and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s is adversely affected.
“The Nigerian government and its torture agency, the DSS, should very well know that the issue of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s health while in their custody, despite the most intolerable provocations in the form of kidnappings, torture, secret disappearances, extrajudicial murders, and extraordinary rendition of our Great Leader from Kenya to Nigeria since June of last year, 2021,” said IPOB. If something bad occurs to him, this gentle approach will never be the same. We are informing you now so that the rest of the world will know that we forewarned Nigeria before it and its torture organization, the DSS, made a mistake that could not be undone.
“We are pleading with the British Prime Minister and her High Commissioner in Abuja, the US President and US Embassy in Abuja, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, the African Union, ECOWAS, the Russian President and Russia Embassy in Abuja, the German Chancellor and her Embassy in Abuja to persuade the Fulani-led Government of Nigeria to unconditionally release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenes of Biafra,” the statement
“This peaceful Biafra fight will abruptly change into a violent revolution, and the Nigeria Government should be held accountable in the case of this scenario,” the statement from the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader reads.
“The Nigerian government should understand that a lion’s soft gait is not a sign of cowardice.”
