Issues Under the FG’s Control That Are Responsible For Poverty In Nigeria, Peter Obi Reveals

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) nominee for president, claimed on Sunday that the federal government has “purview” over the issues contributing to the nation’s rising poverty rate.

The issues of security and “fiscal viability,” according to Obi, who revealed this at the Arise TV presidential town hall series on Sunday night, are the responsibility of the federal government.

According to the former governor of Anambra State, the poverty rate will decline if the federal government secures the country and creates an environment that is favorable to investors.

“The Federal Government is responsible for the majority of the issues that lead to poverty in today’s society. I will take care of it.

He spoke.

Recall that last week, the federal government held State governors accountable for the communities’ unavoidable underdevelopment in local government areas.

In response, the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) stated that the rise in poverty is due to the Federal Government’s failure to secure the nation.

133 million Nigerians, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), are multidimensionally poor.
