“King” Pele is advised to improve by Cristiano Ronaldo

Football legend Pele received a heartfelt message from , the captain of , telling him he “must get better.”

The former Manchester United forward made this statement after Portugal defeated Switzerland 6-1 on Tuesday night in the round of 16 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The 82-year-old Brazilian legend is currently recovering in a hospital, and Ronaldo, who was left off of Portugal's starting lineup for the match against Switzerland, sent a message of support and wishfulness for the 82-year-old's speedy recovery.

“Get better; for Pelé, get better. Our King needs to improve. That's all we want, stated Ronaldo (via UOL).

Pele stopped responding to chemotherapy on Saturday, and he was transferred to end-of-life care at the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo.
