On Thursday, an illegal mining facility was discovered in Lagos by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC).

The staff of the organization were guided to the area in the Ijede axis of Ikorodu by the Commandant, Eweka Okoro.
It was found that the miners were extracting dirt for telecommunications towers and power wires illegally from broad areas of property.

Three caterpillars were among the items the operatives discovered that were thought to be used by the miners for their operations.
Okoro issued a warning to anyone engaging in illegal activity that could endanger vital public resources and the people’s health.
