The judge who handed down the punishment was Justice Abiola Soladoye.
Sunday was judged to be guilty of the charges brought against him by the state government for the assault of the children, who were ages 10 and 8 at the time.
The prosecution stated during the trial that the defendant committed the offenses at some point in the year 2020 on Jaye Oyedotun Street, which is located in the Magodo neighborhood of Lagos State.
In order to prove their case against the defendant, the prosecution counsel, Mrs. Olufunke Adegoke, called four witnesses and presented exhibits. The defendant testified on his own behalf during the defense.
During the process of handing down the verdict, the court decided that the evidence presented by the prosecution was adequate to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the defendant was guilty of the accusations against them.
The defendant, who functioned as steward and gateman for his employer, was found guilty on three counts that bordered on defilement and sexual assault by penetration. The judge sentenced the defendant to life in prison on each of the three counts, and added that the sentences will run consecutively.
The testimony of the survivor was accepted by Justice Soladoye, who stated the following:
“The defendant started assaulting the children, and the older child reported to his grandmother that he was touching the younger sister inappropriately. His grandmother then warned him not to touch his sister again.”
“When the female child informed her grandmother that the defendant was also inappropriately touching her brother,” The CeCe Yara Foundation and, after that, the police were notified about the incident once it was reported.
The defendant denied having any physical contact with the children, although his demeanor was unfriendly. He is a blatant liar who is demonstrating that he is a pathological liar. ”
According to Justice Soladoye, the prosecution has shown sufficient evidence to support its claims that they are guilty of defilement and sexual assault by penetration, as required by sections 137 and 261 of the Criminal Law.
“The convicted offender was a bisexual houseboy who was hopeless and evil. He was a sexual terrorist who raped and murdered children.” A dishonest worker who is also a horrible person whose perverted sexual behavior is not tolerated.
The behavior of the convicted individual is so reprehensible that he should be sentenced to life in prison for the atrocities he has committed. Watchful eyes are required of parents and guardians; the responsibility of looking after children should never be taken lightly.
The court came to the conclusion that the convicted individual’s name should be entered on the Sexual Offenses Register that is kept by the state government.
