Criteria for participation in the Tech Hub Plastics Innovation & Circularity Challenge
Your company is promoting plastic circularity.
You are a for-profit corporation based in South Africa?
You are a marketable service or product that is currently or will soon be available.
Your product or service is undeniably original, and/or your business model is unquestionably disruptive.
You want to increase your economic, social, and environmental impact.
Requirements

…If you live in South Africa and have created an innovative business/technological solution to a plastics problem, such as:

Technologies/systems to accelerate the gathering of plastic
Changes in technology/behavior to assist waste separation after consumption or at the source
A reuse and recycling system for better managing low-value plastics (single-use plastics, multi-layered packaging).
Digital technology to solve plastic pollution (e.g., behavior change, plastic reduction, collection/sorting, recycling, tracking system) and any other invention that could prevent plastic leakage into the ocean.
A working prototype of any of the aforementioned, ready for testing.

Prototyping and testing facilities are available at the V&A Waterfront (if suitable).
