According to a statement made by Police Spokesperson Adejobi Olumuyiwa, the activist who was born in Mbaise attacked her orderly severely on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at her home in Garki, Abuja.
This was in retaliation for the orderly’s refusal to violate professional ethics by performing menial household tasks at the activist’s home.
The preliminary inquiry reveals overwhelming proof of responsibility on the part of the Professor and her domestic workers, and IGP Usman Alkali Baba has ordered the direct prosecution of the apprehended suspects who are currently in police custody.
The IGP has also given the investigative team the responsibility of making sure that the suspect is apprehended and brought to justice.

IGP CONDEMS ACT, ORDERS EXPRESS PROSECUTION OF CASE IN REGARD TO GRUDGEOUS ASSAULT ON WOMAN POLICE
Professor, Another Offender Arrested
The grievous assault on a female police officer, Inspector Teju Moses, by her principal, Prof. Zainab Duke Abiola, a lawyer and human rights activist, and her domestic staff, including the housekeeper Rebecca Enechido and a male suspect who is still at large, has been strongly condemned by IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc (+), NPM, fdc.
On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, in her home in Garki, Abuja, activist Zainab Duke, a Mbaise native, brutally attacked her orderly. This was in response to the orderly’s refusal to violate professional ethics by performing menial and domestic tasks at the activist’s home.
The preliminary inquiry reveals strong proof of responsibility on the side of the Professor and her domestic workers, and the IGP has ordered the direct prosecution of the apprehended suspects who are currently in police custody. The IGP has also given the investigative team the responsibility of making sure that the suspect is apprehended and brought to justice.
It is important to make clear that the suspect, Prof. Zainab, who makes references to the IGP, his family, and other officials in the Force’s top hierarchy, has no acquaintance with the Police in any way, contrary to what has been falsely propagated on social media.
The Inspector-General of Police, who also ordered the removal of all police officers who had been assigned to protect the Professor, expressed shock that someone who calls themselves an advocate for human rights would go to such lengths as to violate the rights of another person—a police officer assigned to ensure her safety.
