If you are an African student wishing to study in the United Kingdom, the Edinburgh Napier University in the United Kingdom is offering West African Scholarships to qualified students interested in pursuing a degree program at the institution.

Self-funding African students starting a study at Edinburgh Napier in September 2023 or January 2024 can apply for a partial scholarship of £2,000 (GBP).

The university is organized around three main campuses in Edinburgh: Merchiston, Craiglockhart, and Sighthill. It has about 19,500 students, including those who study on campus in Scotland as well as those who study on transnational programs overseas and online. In 2018, almost 9,500 international and EU students from more than 140 countries participated.

Engineering, computers, nursing and midwifery, science, business, timber engineering, and transport studies are among the topics available at Edinburgh Napier. Film, graphic design, music, acting, publishing, and product design are among the creative courses available.

Edinburgh Napier University is a multi-award winning university that has received the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education twice (in 2009 and 2015) for its achievements in timber engineering, sustainable construction, and wood science.

Screen Academy Scotland, a collaboration between Edinburgh Napier University and Edinburgh College of Art, is a Screen Skills-approved training provider (eca). Dame Judi Dench and Brian Cox are patrons of the academy, while Tilda Swinton is an ambassador.

West African Scholarships Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be Nigerian or Ghanaian citizens at the time of application. If you are submitting an application from another country in this region, please contact them directly to discuss eligibility.
Applicants must support their own education.
Applicants must have an offer to study for a bachelor’s degree or a one-year master’s degree in September 2023 or January 2024.
Nigeria or Ghana are eligible.

Method of Application: Interested applicants should apply for admission to the university’s undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs. Scholarships are immediately awarded once you have paid your £5000 deposit towards your tuition fees. Scholarships are restricted in quantity and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Please email caswestafrica@napier.ac.uk once you have paid your deposit to be considered.
