Residents of Kaduna issued a warning about the heightened potential for fire mishaps

Residents of the state have been issued a warning by the Federal Fire Service, Kaduna State Command, regarding the possibility of fire incidents occurring during the harmattan season.

In a statement that was released on Wednesday in Kaduna, the state fire commander, Sadiq Usman, said that the purpose of the warning was to protect lives and property in light of the continuing rise in climate-related catastrophes in Nigeria. Sadiq Usman made this explanation.

According to what he had to say, “The call is necessary because the combination of dropping temperatures, strong winds, and increased use of heating sources during the season significantly increased the risk of fires and related emergencies.”

The state Commander gave his word that the Federal Fire Service was taking preventative steps throughout the harmattan season by activating its early warnings systems in order to reduce the risk of catastrophic fires.

According to him, the relevance of early warning systems and early actions was to avert humanitarian disasters, particularly in places that were vulnerable and were located in distant areas.

He stated that it was essential to keep a state of readiness at all times and make it possible for rapid responses to be taken at times of emergency, and he urged communities to actively participate in risk management.

He stated that this includes partnering with the fire department to boost public awareness and improve risk mitigation as well as sharing timely information with key parties.
