The following day, Chukwueze returned to his headquarters and participated in Wednesday's training session.
Some of his teammates greeted the winger with applause.
In recognition of his outstanding play during the tournament, manager Stefano Pioli also gave him a warm embrace.
Nigeria and Chukwueze came in second place at Côte d'Ivoire.
The Nigerian national team used the 25-year-old in six games throughout the tournament.
