Shaqiri joins Messi and Ronaldo and breaks a record

After scoring in his nation's match against Serbia on Friday, Switzerland's Xherdan Shaqiri joined Argentina's Lionel and Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo in an exclusive club.

Shaqiri scored the first goal as Switzerland defeated Serbia 3-2 in Group G.

With his goal against Serbia, the 31-year-old became one of only three players to score in each of the previous three World Cup competitions.

Ronaldo and Messi are the other two athletes to have done so.
