Atiku, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) nominee for president, stated on Sunday during the presidential town hall meeting series on Arise Television that, if elected, he might not entirely rely on Nigerian hospitals for his or her own healthcare.

He stated:

There might not be any healthcare facilities that can accommodate my needs.

“We have limitations, and we are aware of them.”

Senator Sani, however, has stated that it was preferable for Atiku to avoid the path of misleading campaign tactics.

He posted on his verified Twitter account to express his response.

“It’s better that Atiku refused to follow that path of campaign dishonesty rather than lie that if he wins, he will confine himself to Nigerian hospitals.”

Recall that Nigerian political elites have a notorious reputation for seeking medical treatment abroad, a trend that has been attributed to the neglect of the nation’s health sector.
