Pastor William , who is the General Overseer of the Deeper Life Bible , has asked the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to change their positions in order to end their fight for the sake of Nigerian students.

Kumuyi made the call from Minna, Niger State, where he was answering questions from reporters during his six-day Global Crusade with Kumuy.

The cleric said that he thinks the only way out of the deadlock is to talk to each other.

He told me,

“I think we should look at how A should be looking for what will satisfy B and how B should be looking for what will satisfy A in order to solve the problem.

Kumuyi said that fighting between the different institutions would not bring about the peace and end to the crisis that everyone wanted. He insisted that both sides had to pay the price.

The religious leader said,

“On how the government and higher education are at odds with each other. I think the best way forward is to talk to each other. I don't think rioting and other violent actions will solve the problem, but I didn't say they won't.

“When two orders or two opposing groups have a problem, one should look at the problem from the other person's point of view. The universities should look into what the government can do, and the government should look into how to solve the problem.
