In Sokoto State, a sex enhancement drug shipment worth N19.6 million was seized by the Nigeria Custom Service’s joint border patrol team Sector IV.
This revelation was made by Mr. Kolapo Oladeji, the Coordinating Comptroller, during a news briefing in Sokoto. He also mentioned that trucks carrying food were stopped near the Kajji hamlet on the Sokoto-Kebbi route.
The food-laden trucks that were intercepted were allegedly crossing into the Niger Republic illegally through the Kebbi border, according to him.
Given the current state of affairs, we will use all possible means to prevent food smuggling out of the nation.
Everyone is aware that some Nigerians’ actions have caused food prices to soar.
The leader lamented that despite the border limitations imposed by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), his people chose to import food from neighboring countries, despite their hunger.
The NCS operatives also confiscated sixty jerry cans of petroleum products that were being smuggled out of the nation, as pointed out by Oladeji.
The team leader pleaded for the public’s help in providing officials with the knowledge they need to put a stop to harmful behaviors that endanger the nation’s public health and economy.
