Oghenekaro Etebo, a midfielder for the Super Eagles, is optimistic that his team will qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
After losing in the playoffs to a rematch of their longtime rivals, the Black Stars of Ghana, the three-time African champions were unable to advance to the 2022 World Cup.
At the world soccer festival in Russia four years ago, Etebo made his Super Eagles debut.
The Greek player for Aris Thessaloniki stated that he has high expectations for participating in his second World Cup.
“I have had good memories, was at the last edition in Russia and I had hope of playing in Qatar, but it was not meant to be,” Etebo told Brila.net.
Although it hurts not to play in Qatar, our team will qualify for the following edition.
The United States of America, Canada, and Mexico will co-host the FIFA World Cup in 2026.
