The manager of Watford has revealed the reasons why he passed up the chance to sign Emmanuel Dennis

Ismael Valerie, the manager of Watford, has admitted that he did not take advantage of the opportunity to bring Emmanuel back to the club over the summer.

Just one season after leaving the club, rumors began to circulate that Dennis would return to play at Vicarage Road.

Valerie let out that he had prevented the trade from occurring due to the forward's lack of prolificacy.

“His name, Dennis, was brought to my attention, but I declined the offer. That's all there is to it,” Valerie explained to the Watford Observer.

In all candor, I do not believe that this was a mistake on the part of Watford. In his career, he hasn't produced all that much work.

“Yes, he had that one season where he scored 10 goals and earned that move to Nottingham Forest,” you could say, “but that has been his best tally in his whole career to date.”

The previous summer saw the 25-year-old make the switch from Watford to Nottingham.

The striker struggled to make an impact during his time at Nottingham Forest, scoring only twice in the league during the previous season.

He is now playing for the Istanbul Basaksehir team, which competes in the Turkish Super Lig.
