The NSA Monguno cautions governors, “We are coming after your thugs

Major General Babagana Monguno, the National Security Adviser (NSA), has issued a warning to state governors using thugs to prevent the opposition from putting up campaign signs in their territories, warning that security agencies will soon surround them.

Monguno issued a warning that once law enforcement agencies took action, there would be nowhere for such criminals to hide.

On Thursday, he issued the caution while serving as the state house's anchor for the ministerial briefing.

Monguno's response came in the wake of reports that state governors were enacting laws to bar the distribution of opposition campaign literature in their states, a move he attributed to inferiority complex.

He emphasized that President Muhammadu Buhari had made it clear that the upcoming elections in had to be transparent, fair, and free.
