Troubled Ajax is lifted above the relegation zone by Akpom’s brace

In an Eredivisie match on Sunday night, Ajax defeated Heerenveen 4-1 thanks to two braces from Chuba Akpom.

The forward, who was born in Nigeria, scored in the eighty-fourth and ninetieth minutes.

In the 74th minute of the match, Akpom was introduced.

Midweek, the former Middlesbrough striker beat Volendam to score his first goal for Ajax.

Ajax has already surged to ninth place in the standings after 11 games with 14 points.

They currently have six points separating them from the drop zone.
