Wike has never been invited to our party.

The All Progressives Congress chapter in Rivers State has refuted widespread rumors that it invited Nyesom , the state's former governor, to join the party.

This was said in a statement headed “APC Did Not Call For Wike's Admittance Into Its Fold,” which was released to our correspondent on Saturday and signed by the party's publicity secretary in the state, Darlington Nwauju.

The terror inflicted on APC members while Wike was in office, according to Nwauju, is sufficient proof that Wike has no connection to the Rivers State APC.

The statement read, “The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State is calling on Mr. Nyesom Wike to join the same party he had described as suffering from cancer. This call has been made by imposters and sponsored amorphous groupings acting as fronts for the immediate past Governor of Rivers State.”

Nothing could be more absurd than the kite being flown by Wike's servants as they diligently try to explain their pay check.

“We wish to vehemently refute any such rumor or sponsored story that Rivers State APC had at any forum invited Mr. Wike to join our party, least of all calling for Wike to take over leadership of a party he never campaigned for,” the statement reads.

“The terror inflicted on our party members during his eight years of maximum rule alone is enough proof to establish that Wike has no connection to the Rivers State APC,” said Wike. “Asking an enemy to come and finish off his victims is asking him to come and take over,” the statement claimed.

SEE:  No sense in accusing Gov. Emmanuel of OBA's detention, says Peters

“We are aware of his plans to evade justice in connection with the theft of the communal patrimony of the Rivers people, which is the main cause of his relationships with senior APC figures.

“For those who may be experiencing forgetfulness, a non-APC member cannot support Wike's admission to the party. Nobody can decide to become a member of a political party by listening to the radio or reading newspaper articles. All futile attempts to divert attention from our party in Rivers State will continue to fail.

“Therefore, it is expedient for the public to be aware that village meetings or gatherings cannot equate with a stakeholder's meeting of APC in Rivers State, especially a gathering that took place at a hotel belonging to such a non-APC member,” the statement read.

Therefore, we reject any suggestion made at a so-called stakeholders gathering that our party be turned over to Mr. Wike. We reaffirm our party's commitment to supporting the policies and initiatives of the Federal Government at all costs, as long as it is led tenaciously by His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, our President.

“We warn conflipreneurs and blackmailers to stop using the name of our party to curry favor with desperate politicians seeking relevance at the center,” the statement reads.
