Recall that he was detained for questioning in relation to the contentious passing of musician Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, better known by his stage name Mohbad, who was 27 years old.

An insider at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) in Yaba, Lagos, who spoke with “The Guardian” revealed that since Sam Larry’s arrest last week, their phone lines have been ringing nonstop, particularly with calls from a prominent traditional leader on the Island (whose name is kept confidential) pleading with DCP Waheed Ayilara, the head of SCIID, to release Sam Larry.

The individual who contacted reportedly promised to provide him anytime he is required, according to the claims.

The insider stated: “My employer has received numerous calls requesting that Eletu be released while the investigation is ongoing. A well-known traditional leader on the Island (names withheld) keeps calling to beg my boss to let him go after questioning.

When he persisted, my employer told him to speak with the Commissioner of Police (CP), claiming that only he has the authority to order Eletu’s release or not.
