Posted by Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s national chairman, asserted on Tuesday that Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the governor of Delta State and vice presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party, is the most suitable person to serve as Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s running mate.
He asserts that the PDP did study and found Okowa to be the ideal candidate to assist Atiku in helping Nigerians.
The Northern Christian Youth Assembly summit in Abuja, which was held under the theme “Unifying Nigeria: The Role of Northern Christian Youths and Women,” featured a speech from Ayu in which she made this declaration.
He asserted that Okowa was picked due to his humility and ability.
“We looked around and we felt we have to give not just a vice president that will help him (Atiku), but we also did our homework to find a young man who is highly educated, extremely humble, and who has done very well as a governor in his home state,” he said.
The most qualified running partner is Okowa. He was chosen by the party to run as Atiku Abubakar’s running mate based on his own merits. I believe Nigeria will be very fortunate to have two such detribalized individuals who are dedicated to progress and who believe in unifying this nation, he continued.
