Hajiya Huriya Dauda Lawal, the wife of the Governor of Zamfara State, has spoken out against the terrifying frequency with which kidnappers target students attending the Federal University in Gusau.

This was mentioned during an official visit that the Governor’s wife paid to the institution’s management. She bemoaned the fact that students are unable to focus when they are in an unsafe setting.
The First Lady expressed her concern for the administration, faculty, and staff of the university, as well as for the parents of the students.

“I would want to extend my most heartfelt apologies to each and every one of you, my dear daughters who are a part of this wonderful establishment, for not coming in sooner due to unforeseen circumstances.
“The administration under my husband is not resting on its oars; it is restructuring its security architecture to flush out bandits’ activities from the State,” she stated. “The administration is not resting on its oars.”
Her account suggests that multiple security organizations worked together to get the remaining kids out of the building without injuring any of them.

“I am sending out a plea to all of you students to remain vigilant at all times and report any movements that seem suspicious. In addition, I would want to suggest to management that they increase their workforce,” she continued.
